What sandals to choose this summer
If the summer is in full swing, but the vacation is still far away, do not despair: sometimes it is enough to put on light sandals and a wide-brimmed hat to feel the approach of a long-awaited vacation. Consider the five most interesting models of current summer shoes.
Do not count the options for combining flat sandals with clothes: this can be an evening dress, and trousers, as well as different lengths of shorts and skirts. But a short a-line dress, a symbol of the era of the 60s, will look especially stylish in combination with sandals. It will be even better if this summer your sandals are equipped with not only extremely thick, but also corrugated soles.
Separately, it is worth mentioning the sandals of Roman gladiators, who have not lost their relevance this season either. Take advice: opt for sandals of pastel, almost flesh-colored flowers, up to the middle of the lower leg. Thanks to this decision, the legs will appear not only longer, but also slimmer. Together with a light A-line dress, Roman sandals with thin lacing, reaching almost to the knee, form a wonderful union.
Having overcome all prejudices and clichés, the Vietnamese finally established themselves in the status of full-fledged shoes, in which it’s not shameful to appear even on the red carpet (actress Tilda Swinton has confirmed this). Now flip flops can be worn not only on the beach with shorts with a beach towel at the ready, but also with a business trouser suit. Some designers insist that the combination of flip flops with long trousers and a leather jacket is ideal.
Well, on condition of a cool but dry summer, this somewhat extravagant tandem may well become a convenient and even everyday kit. However, orthopedic surgeons consider flip flops the worst of all possible types of shoes: with all the apparent comfort of flip flops, the leg is not fixed in them, which provokes excessive load on the muscles of the feet. In addition, it is strongly not recommended to drive a car in these shoes.
As a summer alternative to men's-style boots, neat slippers and blofers (loafers without heels) appear. This year, bloomers can be found in leather, suede, pointed and massive with a blunt toe, in a variety of colors - black, white, beige and tea rose. Wear blofers in the same way you wear boots: with a strict, non-compromising business suit or frivolous silk dress.
Mules or mules (from the Latin. “Mulleus calceus” - shoes of thinkers) - a type of summer shoes with heels, without a back and an overlapping strap through the heel. The heel can be of any shape and height, and the top - both from ordinary leather or cotton, and from others, sometimes luxurious, materials of purple, violet and other noble colors. Modern designers, while preserving the traditions, are not stingy with decorating mules with gold embroidery, curved noses, pompons and other decorative elements.
This summer, on the shelves of shoe stores, you will find a great variety of mules, generously decorated with "evening" decor with sparkles and rhinestones. However, the splendor of “evening lights” can be easily adapted for everyday life: richly decorated mules should be combined with a suit or overalls in a military style. If you liked the mules at low speed - great, they are perfect for open tops with Bermuda or boyfriend jeans. A nice addition: the shoes of oriental thinkers emphasize the narrow ankles and visually lengthen the legs.
In France, these wooden shoes (with a cut back) were called "clogs", and in Holland - "clomps". It was the Dutch designer Jan Jansen in 1969 who introduced the world of high fashion woody clog, which soon gained fans around the world. So this summer, fashion heralds unanimously announced clogs as an obligatory subject of a fashionable wardrobe. Wooden shoes, despite their specific character, will find common ground with shirt-cut dresses, ripped jeans, flared jeans, shorts made from natural, for example, cotton fabrics, as well as any denim clothes. And do not be surprised: even with classic trousers, clogs will look great. Sandals derived from clogs will look good with dresses and skirts in the style of "boho" and wide-brimmed woven hats. But before you go out on the streets in the clogs, practice keeping balance in them.
When choosing shoes, especially summer ones, it is still worth remembering that the best shoes are those that not only complete a well-chosen outfit, but also leave no painful marks on the feet.
